Manhattan Beach, CA (November 2014) – Facilitating affordable academic travel for college students and scholars can lead to new innovations and better our world.
College is a place for students to ignite their passion for problem-solving, and during this time they are consistently making the world a better place through thoughtful observation, discovery, and application. Traveling is paramount to advancing this type of research and collaboration. But, with the cost of higher education on the rise and the average outstanding student loan balance over $20,000, many students feel they can’t afford to travel.
SabbaticalHomes.com is set on changing that … For the last 14 years, students have been able to afford to travel using SabbaticalHomes.com. This low-fee online home listing service gives academics a real connection with another member of their educational and professional community, facilitating comfortable peer-to-peer rentals worldwide. Plus it’s more affordable to rent or exchange an apartment over the summer than to leave it empty and rack up more debt by staying in a hotel abroad.
In addition to its mission to facilitate affordable academic travel, and in an effort to help more students get on the move, SabbaticalHomes.com has created an educational travel scholarship opportunity of $1,500.
